How to participate in EGEE
EGEE welcomes new participants - either as
an application user or as a contributing computing
resource (site) .
Applications and Users
The "Application Identification and Support (NA4)" activity within EGEE helps users of all levels to port and run their applications on the EGEE infrastructure. New applications communities are invited to make contact with the NA4 group as a first step.
Individuals who are members of recognised Virtual Organisations
(application communities), can get started as a grid user by following the instructions in the gLite User Guide which takes the user through the necessary steps for authentication, registration, authorisation and job submission. In case of
infrastructure and operational
issues users are invited to contact the Global Grid User Support (GGUS) .
For advise on deploying a new application on the grid, contact the Application Porting support service.
Resource Centres
Sites wishing to join the EGEE grid infrastructure are
also very welcome. This process is coordinated within each Regional
Federation by the Regional Operations
Centre (ROC) in that region. Sites willing to join are invited to consult the document explaining how to be associated to a ROC. Afterwards, they should contact
their local ROC and apply to join. In general, all ROCs are expected to make sites aware of some minimum
requirements expected of a site, and some operational
policies that must be agreed to.
